New Microsoft Flaws Affect Windows and Exchange
The flaws, which affect Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Exchange 5.5, and Exchange 2000, are the latest in a string of critical weaknesses identified in Windows recently. Microsoft is changing the way it releases security bulletins. Beginning this month, Microsoft will release security bulletins once a month. Mid-month bulletins may still be released for vulnerabilities that pose an immediate risk.
More Information An attacker who exploits these vulnerabilities could potentially run code on an unpatched system, or take other actions on the system, including installing programs, viewing, changing or deleting data, or creating new accounts with full privileges.
